Biography

Aylin Ulman is a Canadian citizen with a Turkish heritage. She completed her BA in Geography at UBC and is now planning to start graduate studies in resource management. She has taught scuba diving in many countries around the world, and worked in marine conservation in Mexico and Belize. Aylin has also worked as a whale-watching guide, an educator for the Vancouver Aquarium and as a Fisheries Technician for Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).

She joined the Sea Around Us Project in January 2011 as a research assistant and personal assistant to Daniel Pauly. She is presently working on a catch reconstruction project for Turkey.
