PhD Fisheries Stock assessment (Imperial College, UK); MSc Quantitative Marine Ecology (University of Sydney, Australia); BSc Marine Biology (University of Plymouth, UK)
Research Interests
I am currently researching the simulation evaluation of CPUE standardisation methods and the design of tagging experiments with a particular focus on the tropical tunas of the Atlantic. Further research aims include management strategy evaluation for Atlantic bigeye and yellowfin tuna. I am also keen to describe bioeconomic models in order to get a better handle on the possible extent of IUU activity in the tuna fisheries of the Atlantic.
Position
Tom is currently a research associate at the Fisheries Centre, working with Dr Murdoch McAllister and Dr Rashid Sumaila.
Research Grant
Tom's research is funded by Lenfest Ocean Program of the Pew Charitable Trusts.
